resolution- a firm decision to do or not to do something.

auto focus- a device that focuses a camera or other piece of equipment automatically.

white balance- the color balance on a digital camera 

shot timer- adding seconds to the camera

Week 14a- Print Ready Design-Layout Terms

Font (serif & sans-serif) - A small decorative line added as embellishment to the basic form of a character. Typefaces are often described as being serif or sans serif (without serifs). The most common serif typeface is Times Roman. A common sansserif typeface is Helvetica.


Margin - the edge or border of something.                                   



Guide (illustrator guides) a thing that helps someone to form an opinion or make a decision or calculation. 

Bleed-  Bleeds allow you to run artwork to the edge of a page


CMYK- color model (process color, four color) is a subtractive color model, used in color printing, and is also used to describe the printing process itself. 

   Resolution- Refers to the sharpness and clarity of an image.                                                        
   
                         
Copy proof-  a copy of (a book, story, etc) made from trial impressions made from composed type, or print-outs  

 Art board- a type of good-quality cardboard used for illustration and painting



   Registration mark-  Crosses or other targets applied to original copy prior to photography. Used for positioning films in register, or for register of two or more colors in process printing.

Layout border- border layout is a layout scheme in which you can add an element for each of the four compass directions or centered. 


                                                                      
Layout dimensions- measurable extent of some kind, such as length, breadth, depth, or height
